Are the items at Nordstrom Rack real? ›

Nordstrom Rack carries merchandise from Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom.com, as well as specially purchased items from many of the top brands sold at Nordstrom.

Nordstrom is the specialty store. Nordstrom Rack is the discount outlet that sells clothing that hasn't sold even with markdowns at the Nordstrom stores along with clothing that was purchased from various vendors that are lower price points. Think of Nordstrom Rack as the clearance center for Nordstrom stores.

Make sure to subscribe to Nordstrom Rack's newsletter to really be in the know. Know Your Red Tags. Red tags indicate clearance and some are even penny items which are marked as “$0.01” — yes, that's really the price. Penny items are supposed to be pulled from the floor, but if you find one, the item is yours!

Many of the purses at Nordstrom Rack are “Off Price Designer” items, meaning they are real designer items at a fraction of the cost. Customers can expect to find items from luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Kate Spade and Michael Kors.

Nordstrom doesn't purposefully sell bad quality items specifically made for Rack, it's just a myth. It's a hit or miss on some items, sure. But that has to do with the quality it was returned in. All clothes/shoes/accessories/etc that go to Rack are customer returned items.

There are no time limits for Nordstrom returns and exchanges and no highlighted restrictions in the Nordstrom returns policy, however Nordstrom reserve the right to handle returns on a “case by case basis”. Special occasion dresses and designer items may not be returnable if tags have been removed.
